I noticed a lot of remarcks about the program on Nodak... It's on just about every website forum out there throughout the year. Some people support it and some don't. I see both sides of the story.
1. CRP = 2 million ducks a year Question: What program right behind CRP raises ducks? Awnswer: Predator Managment - Estimated (science based) 71,500 ducks that are successful through the nesting period. No other program even comes close.
Predator Managment isn't the silver bullet, but it help compliment what habitat we have left. When we don't have any left... This is where hen houses, PM, and science based solutions come into play.
Note: More ducks are raised on Private Land than any other place.... Roughly 75% of the ducks come from the PPR and I am sure you guys know this stuff already, but I want to explain the importance of the tool.
Delta's press release that came out a few weeks ago wasn't pointed at numbers or results. It was talking about four guys that at one time contributed a lot to the world of waterfowl managment.
Hope the meeting goes well for you guys tonight.
Let me know if you need anything after the meeting!
Scott
